Soares, Maria de Fatima Cordeiro 76, of Pawtucket, passed away on Saturday, December 19 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved mother of Maria H. Keels, of Texas and Ana Beatriz Soares of Pawtucket. She was preceded in death by her two sisters Gizela Silva and Mary Motta, and beloved brother Antonio Cordeiro.
Born on February 8, 1944 in Ponta Delgada, S. Miguel Acores, she was the daughter of Humberto and Christina Cordeiro. She emigrated to the United States in 1973. She was employed by Texas Instruments-Sensata for 24 ½ years where she was loved by all. She retired in 2007.
Besides her daughters she leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Ashley DeBarros of Warwick, Britney DeBarros of Providence, Antonio DeBarros of Woonsocket and Mason Keels of Texas all of who she Loved with her whole being. Son-in-law, Gregory Keels of Texas, A sister-in-law Estefania Cordeiro of Warwick, four nieces and two nephews, and several cousins in Ponta Delgada, Acores.
She was a Faithful member of St. Mary’s Church in Pawtucket for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time family and helping others.
Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions there will be no public viewing and the burial will also be private. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on January 4, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church, Pine St., Pawtucket, RI. We also recommend instead of flowers to make a donation to the Health Well Foundation: Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer in memory of Maria F. Soares. Without grants from this organization Maria would not have been able to get the treatments she received for her Cancer.
Today we also ask you play a Celine Deion song in her memory; she was her favorite!!
